Navarre Celebrates The Townsville Special Children’s Christmas Party
Representatives and families from Navarre Minerals celebrated the annual Townsville Special Children’s Christmas Party on the 3rd of December, participating in festivities and helping supply treats for the big party.
Sponsored by Navarre, a small army of volunteers met the morning before the event to hand-pack over 500 treat bags for the revellers, filled with nutritious – and less than nutritious, but the best kind – of treats.
This was the fifth year of Mt Carlton’s involvement with the party, with many veteran “party bag packers” returning to help.
Children lined up for an hour before the party, buzzing with excitement. Once inside, their day was filled with laughter, fun activities, special memories, and good times.
We wish to congratulate all involved and give a special thank you to our volunteers. Reports on the ground told us that the treat bags were an instant hit!
The Townsville Special Children’s Christmas Party was created in 1991 to give marginalised children who may miss the bigger Christmas events. It gives them an opportunity to come together and celebrate the beauty of the Holiday Season with a community bigger than their immediate family and caregivers.
