The Mt Carlton Operation recently conducted a simulated emergency response exercise, which provided an opportunity for the Mt Carlton Mines Rescue team to test their offensive firefighting skills.

The exercise was coordinated by Mark Liessmann and Adam Yates, who are both passionate about ensuring the site’s safety and emergency preparedness.

The scenario for the exercise was a fire drill in the administration building, with simulated smoke to make the situation more realistic. Despite the challenging conditions, team members were successfully evacuated from the building, as well as from the processing plant and laboratory.

General Manager Mark Brown, along with other members of the site’s Health, Safety & Training team, were on hand to oversee the exercise and ensure that everyone was safely evacuated. The drill was an important opportunity for the team to practice their skills and refine their emergency response protocols.

At Mt Carlton, safety is a top priority, and exercises like this help to ensure that the team is always ready to respond in the event of an emergency. Congratulations to everyone involved in the successful execution of the exercise!
