The Minerals Council of Australia interviewed Navarre’s Tessa O’Callaghan about her journey from growing up “liking rocks” and working for Navarre as a geology assistant.
Having completed her Year 10 work experience with Navarre, Tessa came back to the company during the COVID-19 pandemic when she deferred her degree.
“It’s a business I’ve always been around,” she says in the video. “They gave me an opportunity and first started me off in the industry.”
She says there are “plenty of opportunities” in geology and mining and that practical experience has been a “real eye opener” that will complement her studies. Tessa says that Navarre gave her a pathway to embrace geology as a career, thanks to engaging in real-world field work.
